PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) – Southern Pines Animal Shelter (SPAS) is hosting a special clinic Saturday for the Purvis community.
The clinic was made possible by a grant from PetSmart Charities.
The shelter team will be at the Lamar County Multi-Purpose Center offering free services, including vaccines, heartworm testing and flea and tick prevention.
Free pet supplies will also be available to those affected by last month’s tornado.
Shelter leaders said cats and dogs eight weeks & older must be comfortable being handled.
“We have a families from Purvis that use our services,” SPAS Development Director Dani Snell said. “So, it is an area of our community that we do service through our healthy pet clinic. We just wanted to be helpful in this way.”
The multi-purpose center is located at 43 Central Industrial Row in Purvis.
The team will accept walk-ins, but appointments can be made by phone at (601) 544-6632.
