Here’s another interesting fact about the importance of micronutrients and how synergistic our body is to certain hormones and nutrients.
As we all practice a robust social distancing sitting at home and pretty much are doing everything from home, there’s one thing we need to be mindful about which is the very fact that more than 90% of us are Vitamin D deficient.
Now most of us think vitamin D is just any other vitamin but in its truest form, it gets converted into a steroid hormone Vitamin D which is responsible for hundreds of chemical processes in our body including our moods, thyroid function, Joint health, and various other coenzyme activities making it a significant micronutrient.
Now we have this perception about vitamin D that if we live in a country like India where there are numerous sunny days in a year we can never be lacking this particular nutrient in our body but the truth is more than 90% of us are vitamin D deficient which I realized when I started noticing this annoying pain at my joints and not necessarily major joints like Knees or ankle but even my thumb joint and wrist.
