Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech said on September 7 that its candidate COVID-19 vaccine appears to be safe for the elderly, according to preliminary results from early stage to phase 2 trials.

Liu Peicheng – Sinovac’s media representative – revealed to Reuters that Sinovac’s candidate CoronaVac vaccine did not cause serious side effects in the phase 1 and phase 2 combination trial, which began in May.
