Hi, I am Dr Arthur Williams, MD, Family Medicine Specialist
Recommendations to improve your immunity system against coronavirus (COVID 19). Our “How to health tips” below.
Research indicates that Coronavirus needs receptors to hook in our body.
If we can block these receptors, we can theoretically reduce the chance of getting the virus
1- garlic: this can reduce the ability of the virus to hook, and enhance immunity
We suggest oral garlic tablet once daily
Or eating 2 small pieces of raw garlic every day.
2- Vitamin C enhance the immunity as well, make it more difficult for the virus to hook
Vitamin C improve your immunity and reduce the change of viruses to grow inside your body
3- 30-60 minutes of exercise a day: this increase the nitric oxide in the body, nitric oxide neutralize the virus and reduce virology
You can do some stretches combine with meditation and yoga exercises
You can also combine this with sit-ups, pull-ups, pushups,
Younger adults or teenagers can play video games where you need to move frequently (Wii Remote or Playstation Move or Xbox Kinect)
If you have this in your house available: indoor gymnasium equipment i.e cycle, treadmill, rowing machine, dumbbells, weights etc.
4- Keeping the mouth and stomach warm and humid help reducing the entry of the virus to the respiratory system.
Avoid cold beverage and cold liquid
It will make the infection easier.
5- Increase protein intake: casein exist in eggs and fish and chicken breast, casein reduces the ability of the virus to infect, hence, high protein diet is essential
6- Vegetables also enhance immunity along with fruits, it should be part of the diet.
7. Continue your chronic medication very strictly.
8. Reduce your alcohol consumption to a minimum and try to reduce cigarette smoking.
9. Oral zinc supplements t also reduce the infection, zinc excise is a different formula, 1 tablet per day.
10. Continue to sanitize, wash hands with soap and water and disinfect common use area.
LAST NOTE: Please have sufficient sleep.
The guidelines we provide in this channel are based on good practise medical ethics and evidence plus my own experience during my career of 25 years as a doctor and sports medicine specialist.
