Vaxess Technologies is developing more efficacious medicines and vaccines using a novel approach for stabilizing and delivering medicines to the body. The company is developing a patch, roughly the size of a postage stamp, containing rows of silk-based microneedles embedded with medicine or vaccine. Impressively, just five minutes of wear-time enables two weeks of release in the body. This patch is easy to transport, stable at room temperature, and it can provide more effective treatment or prevention through sustained in-body release of medicine.
