10+ vaccines are in the final stages of testing, Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine was one of them. Their vaccine has been tested on 43,500 people and it prevented 90% people from getting COVID-19.
Once this vaccine is injected to patients, it enters the cells and tells them to create COVID-19 spike protein. This encourages immune system to produce antibodies and activate T-cells which destroys infected cells.
So, even if a patients gets the COVID-19, T-cells gets quickly activated and fights the virus. 2 doses, 3 weeks apart were given to participants with 90% positive result. The companies say they can supply 50 million doses by end 2020 and around 1.3 billion doses by the end of 2021.
