In this video we will discuss a study in pre-print that is looking at the Peruvian experience with Ivermectin prophylaxis for COVID-19. In Peru, many regions had large programs for the distribution of Ivermectin prophylaxis over the past several months. These authors looked at each individual region, their excess deaths thought secondary to COVID-19, and the timeline/volume of Ivermectin distribution in that region. They then compared regions with significant distribution of Ivermectin to a region with little Ivermectin distribution. Their data, although population data with many variables, shows repeated trends towards lower deaths that correlate with Ivermectin distribution. But does correlation equal causation?
