On 12/19/20 I was diagnosed with Covid at 32 weeks pregnant. I am going to try and update the progression of this virus every couple of days as well as what my baseline supplements are during pregnancy & what I am adding or changing to treat it. I will share what I am experiencing & how I am responding to treatment but I am not a doctor & what I say or do should not be considered medical advice. Do your own research & talk to your doctor if you require treatment for Coronavirus.

Day 9: FATIGUE!!! I needed TWO 2-3 hour naps & my energy was low. A bit more coughing (productive) meaning I coughed a little throughout the day but not bad. Still no taste or smell- not motivated to eat.

Day 10: Feeling pretty good. Very minimal cough, mostly in the am when I woke up. I got about 30% return on taste & smell today! I was able to walk my kids around the block at a fairly brisk pace (~15 minutes). No nap.

Technically I could call work & get clearance to return tomorrow as it’s been 10 days & no meds or (significant) symptoms for 24+ hours.

What I am taking to treat/ minimize my Coronavirus symptoms.

1. I’m eating a clean diet by avoiding sugar other than a little fruit & staying away from processed foods. Our household cleaned up our diet as soon as I got sick & got super strict as soon as I tested + for Covid-19.

2. I’m taking 5000-6000 IUs of Vitamin D3 with K2.

3. Vitamin C. I’m taking 2-3 servings a day mixed into a little lemonade. Each serving is 1, 670mg. If my symptoms turn & I get significantly worse I will up it to 1 serving hourly to bowel tolerance.
NOW Supplements, Sodium Ascorbate Powder, Buffered, Antioxidant Protection*, 3-Pound

4. I’m taking Neo40 Professional, Nitric Oxide quick dissolve tablets. There is much to be learned about Nitric Oxide.

4. I have asthma so I have been using my Albuterol inhaler at bedtime and first thing in the morning to help keep my airway as dilated as possible. I usually only experience asthma symptoms when I am sick or occasionally from poor air quality (ash from recent fires near me in So Cal). Other than Day 1, I have not seen an exasperation of my asthma symptoms.

My normal pregnancy supplement regime before getting sick:

AM: In lieu of prenatal vitamins I take 1 scoop of Restore Veggie Protein-Vanilla mixed in 6 oz of water. This product is methylated so my body is able to actually utilize the vitamins despite the fact that I have 2 MTHFR gene mutations (1 on each). My OB said the only thing that was lacking was enough Folate.

AM: So I take half of one of these for an additional 500 MCG Folate. This is also methylated so My body is able to actually process it. Folate 1000 MCG (Metafolin® 1,000 MCG) Tablets – 120 Count

AM: I also take 1 capsule of iodine (+vitamin C, zinc, selenium, & vitamin B1) It helps with stomach acid production. I learned that acid reflux (aka heartburn) is actually caused by not enough stomach acid, yet so frequently we’re told to take antacids (especially in pregnancy) so the actual underlying issue isn’t addressed.

PM: Before bed I take a probiotic to maintain a healthy gut. I’ve been advised that iodine is an antiviral & antibacterial & anti fungal (think about sterilizing surgical sites) so it should not be taken at the same time as probiotics.
