Prof. Adrian Martineau and Dr. Arne Soraas discuss vitamin D supplementation in the general population for prevention of COVID-19, based upon their randomised CORONA-VIT and CLOC studies, which have been published back-to-back in British Medical Journal in September 2022.
Adrian Martineau is Professor of Respiratory Infection and Immunity at Queen Mary University of London and Chief Investigator of the COVIDENCE UK study, into which the randomized CORONA-VIT study was embedded.
Arne Sorass is MD and PhD in the Department of Molecular Microbiology of Oslo University Hospital. As specialist in infectious diseases, he is Chief Investigator in the Norwegian Corona Cohort which follows 200.000 Norwegians through the pandemic, into which the CLOC study was embedded.
The interview was recorded on September 27th, 2022. Moderators: Prof. Dr. Martina Sester (Homburg, Germany) and Prof. Dr. Gunnar Heine (Frankfurt / Homburg, Germany).
