I’m often asked what are the best supplements for younger and more youthful looking skin I’m going to go through nine of my favorites today and number nine is my absolute favorite okay number one on my list is collagen great for the skin and I prefer one that is a hydrolized Bine collagen and from grass-fed cows now this becomes very important because we don’t want to increase the toxic load from taking a collagen and something called dyum and a grass-fed collagen is going to be much lower in that dyum number two on my list is Eline and this very specific amino acid also found in collagen can be taken on its own in combination with some of the other ones that I’ll talk about as supplements for younger skin but alyene is fantastic for helping to maintain that proper structure and function of your collagen it helps to support your keratin for strong hair and nails as well number three on my list is MSM so this is a natural supplement that really does help to support the proper binding of your procollagen fibers together to form the proper stacking of your actual collagen number four on my list is horse tail so not an actual horse’s tail but the herbal medicine horse tail is called equisetum AR Vents and this is important it naturally contains silica so really supportive to healthy skin and hydration of the skin but also supports again the Keratin for strong hair and nails now number five on my list is Vitamin C now vitamin C helps with the proper scaffolding of your collagen fibers so really really important for that youthful skin now not all vitamin C’s are created equal you definitely don’t want to take a synthetic form of vitamin C always look for a whole food vitamin C if you’re going to supplement with it ideally coming from things like acerola cherries and cam cam berries which are 60 times more concentrated in vitamin C as compared to oranges which we often think of as the gold standard for our vitamin C levels okay number six on my list another really important supplement for younger skin is zinc so zinc again a very important mineral great for our immune system great for sore throats but also much like vitamin C helps that proper structure of our collagen fibers number seven on my list is magnesium and I’ve always said that magnesium is our anti-aging mineral now one of the reasons that I like a magnesium bis glycin it so bound to glycine is that glycine really does help with the Skin Barrier function it helps to make sure that too much calcium is not flooding in into our cells so regulating that is going to be really important for that Skin Barrier function maintaining that proper phospholipid bilayer allowing for all of our nutrients to come into our skin and of course those toxins to get out of those cells number eight on my list another great supplement for younger skin is co-enzyme Q10 now this is a co-enzyme it helps with your mitochondrial function it helps with making sure that electrons are moving in our energy production it is a powerful antioxidant and really protective not only for our skin and our Beauty as an antioxidant but also protects our major internal organs so our heart our liver our kidneys our lungs as well they all utilize and require enough coq0 and unfortunately as we age our coq0 distribution severely drops off and number nine on my list my most favorite supplement for younger skin is a fish oil but not any fish oil a fish oil that’s higher in the DHA and that’s your doosa hexanoic acid this very important omega-3 fatty acid has a lot to do with being able to maintain that beauty and luminosity in the skin it helps with our electrical signaling in our body really important for our vision and Eye Health but really does help with that moisture barrier for your skin helping to slow down those fine lines and wrinkles as we age now are you taking any of these supplements on my list I would love to hear from you so make sure you’re putting that in the comment section and for more information on how to effectively take your supplements I want you to check out a video this is an important concept supplements you should never be taking with your coffee I’ll see you there
