Three supplements I don’t take as a doctor. As a doctor, people always ask me what kind of supplements I take. I think it’s actually important to talk about what I don’t take. Number one, a multivitamin. Most people don’t need 20 plus random vitamins in a pill. And the doses are often too low to even make a difference. I recommend finding out what you’re actually deficient in, which we can do with lab tests, and then taking the vitamins that you actually need and are deficient in. Number two, detox teas or supplements. If your liver and kidneys are working well, you don’t need to take something additional to flush toxins out. That’s actually the point of these organs is to detox your body. Some of these detox supplements can actually dehydrate you. Number three, collagen for weight loss. Collagen can help with skin health and joint health, but it’s not going to magically burn fat. It’s a protein, not a miracle. If you’re going to take supplements, you want to make sure that you’re taking targeted treatment that’s actually intended for deficiencies you have. Save your money and focus on nutrient-dense food, adequate sleep, and good exercise. Now, if you’re curious what supplements I do take, comment below and I’ll send you the list. And of course, follow for more practical health tips.
