Welcome to my new series where I’m sharing 30 days of wellness boosting recipes to help us be the healthiest versions of ourselves. With cold and flu season upon us, around this time every year, I make immune boosting wellness shots, and it’s like nature’s medicine in a bottle. One of my all-time favorites is this lemon, ginger, turmeric shot. The fresh ginger and turmeric provide powerful antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory benefits, while the orange and lemon flood your body with immune boosting vitamin C. And by the way, if you don’t have a juicer, you can blend these ingredients and then strain the juice through a nutmilk bag. Don’t forget to add some pepper to help maximize the absorption of the turmeric. I like to make a large batch and then freeze them in individual portions to lock in as much nutrition as possible. And then I’ll defrost them one at a time overnight so it’s ready to take in the morning. And don’t throw away the pulp. You can actually add it to ice cube trays with a little bit of water or extra leftover juice and then add it to your smoothies for an extra boost of fiber. Stay tuned for more wellness boosting
