from the beginning we’ve known that children can be infected with the cyrus cov2 virus the virus that causes cova-19 but children tend to have more mild disease and many children who are infected with sars kobe 2 have asymptomatic infection meaning they don’t have disease at all um this is not universal we do know that some children have developed severe disease and some children have died uh following infection in the development of disease fortunately um that it that seems to be relatively rare um but it does happen and we know that children with underlying conditions are at a higher risk of developing severe disease so generally this is what we see children can be infected children can spread the virus to others they can be infected by their parents they can infect their parents but luckily so far we do still see children tending to have more mild disease
