Just a minute: Vitamin B-6🍠🐟
• What? Vitamin B6
• Why? Heart, Immune, Brain, Energy, Nerves, and Skin
• Which? Pyridoxine, Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate
• How Much? ≥ 1.3mg/day
• Where? Beans, Nuts, Seeds, Potatoes, Liver, Fish, and Meats
FYI- Vitamin B-6 is important for making neurotransmitters, including norepinephrine (helps alertness), serotonin (helps balance mood), GABA (helps calming) and melatonin (helps regulate sleep.) So, active vitamin B-6 aka pyridoxal-5-phosphate aka P-5-P is used in moderate doses to help treat PMS, insomnia and depressed mood.
Taken with folate and vitamin B-12, P-5-P is used to help lower inflammatory homocysteine levels, which reduces stress on the heart and brain.
