HARTFORD — Hartford Utilities billing specialist Holly Wenzel recently crafted seasonal wellness kits to share with community members in need.
The 10 kits were donated to Peace Lutheran School for teachers and staff members. The kits include hand sanitizer, lip balm, tea, tissues, vitamin C packets, and a message wishing the recipient will get well soon.
“As we assembled these kits we decided there couldn’t be a better way to use them than to donate to people right here who might be feeling a little under the weather,” said Wenzel. “Community care powers us all.”
Employees created wellness kits while participating in the Building Community Connections workshop hosted by wholesale power provider WPPI Energy, of which Hartford Utilities Electric and Water is a member owner. Each year, utility staff from across the WPPI membership gather at this event to focus on customer service, energy industry issues and take time to share ideas with other utility professionals to provide the best for their communities.
“Service is important to us,” Wenzel said. “It’s what we do every day. In our work at the City or out in the field, but also just as importantly, in all the ways we help make this community better.”
