W.O.L.F. Fitness Sewell is opening February 7th at the Timberline Shopping Center in Sewell/Mantua, bringing 20,000 square feet of state-of-the-art workout equipment and a highly experienced training staff to the area.

The Mantua location of W.O.L.F. Fitness is owned by a local husband-and-wife couple Ed and Crystal, who live just a few exits down Route 55. They are incredibly excited to bring the W.O.L.F. Fitness experience to the Mantua area and hope residents take advantage of the pre-sale membership packages currently being offered.

W.O.L.F. Fitness Sewell – Timberline Shopping Center. Opens February 7th

The W.O.L.F. Fitness gym brand began in Atlantic County, South Jersey, about eight years ago and has been so well received by the fitness community that even a visiting Hollywood actor who was filming in South Jersey signed on as a part owner of the W.O.L.F. Fitness parent company! (read on for more)

For the locally owned Sewell/Mantua location they expect a February 7th opening for W.O.L.F. Fitness, which they will celebrate with a party atmosphere featuring a Live DJ, Vendors, Food Trucks and more!

Within the Timberline shopping center, W.O.L.F. Fitness occupies the left portion of what was once a Shop ‘N Bag. The shopping center sits at a busy intersection across from Target, the recently opened Edelman Fossil Park, and is just minutes from Lowe’s.

Mantua Township officials are also excited about the gym’s upcoming opening. Coincidentally, during my visit, Mayor Zimmerman and Deputy Mayor Lukens were on hand to congratulate Ed and Crystal on their new business venture.

Also present during my visit was the gym’s new General Manager, Jill, who previously served as GM at Crunch Fitness in Deptford. If you know Jill from Deptford, you already know she puts members first and does everything possible to ensure the best gym experience. Former Crunch Fitness members will likely recognize several familiar faces amongst the W.O.L.F. Fitness team!

W.O.L.F. Fitness Sewell is currently offering a Pre-Opening Package for a limited time. Check details online.

Inside W.O.L.F. Fitness Sewell

W.O.L.F. Fitness Sewell spans 20,000 square feet across two large rooms and offers a full range of workout equipment, including rows of cardio treadmills and bikes, muscle-group-focused machines, and a complete selection of free weights.

The gym also includes premium amenities—at no additional cost to members—such as saunas, red light therapy, and cold plunge tubs. Matching sets of these amenities are located in both the men’s and women’s locker rooms, providing a more private and comfortable experience.

Another dedicated space serves as a pose room, featuring mirrors along multiple walls as well as a unique 45-degree angled row of ceiling mirrors.

During my visit, the rubber flooring, all of the workout equipment, and wall graphics were already in place. The rear of the main workout area will soon feature a turf zone, ideal for more open, functional training activities such as sled work.

Sauna!

I am not an gym export… but i noted higher quality commercial grade Precor EFC cardio machines and Life Fitness gym machines.

The front desk area will also include a fitness smoothie bar, offering a variety of protein shakes and even coffee for early-morning workouts.

W.O.L.F. Fitness does not offer childcare services, nor does it host traditional group classes like yoga or Zumba. However, GM Jill shared that group training activities are expected to be offered in the turf area.

The W.O.L.F. Fitness Story

The W.O.L.F. Fitness family began in 2018 when Tony and Trish Saxby purchased the Brigantine location (the only one at the time). In 2021, they added a second location in Absecon, followed by Northfield a year later.

The gym is built around four core pillars—honor, integrity, community, and commitment—a mindset that carries through the staff at every location and helps “Wolfpack” members achieve their individual fitness goals.

Following the success of the first three gyms, Tony and Trish recognized how strongly their model resonated with members and transitioned into a franchise model to expand the brand.

The gym’s success attracted additional ownership partners, including actor David Bautista, widely known for his role as Drax The Destroyer in the Guardians of the Galaxy films. Bautista has shared online that he discovered W.O.L.F. Fitness while filming in Atlantic City and was immediately impressed—not only with the gym experience but also with founder Tony Saxby himself—leading him to join the ownership team.

Ed and Crystal now serve as the franchise operators for the Mantua/Sewell location. Ed told me that during the pandemic he became more focused on his physical fitness but struggled to find a gym that aligned with his mindset and goals. After discovering W.O.L.F. Fitness, he realized the locations were too far from home—prompting a bold dinner-table question: “Hey Crystal, how do you feel about opening a gym?”

That simple question quickly turned into reality as the couple signed on as W.O.L.F. Fitness franchisees.

During my visit, I had the chance to speak separately with both Crystal and Jill, and each independently shared glowing praise for founder Tony Saxby, calling him “an amazing guy” and focused on the success of they gym members and gym owners. Those exact words have were also echoed by David Bautista in his video about W.O.L.F Fitness. That positive, people-first mentality clearly carries throughout the W.O.L.F. Fitness brand and is evident in franchise locations like W.O.L.F. Fitness Sewell.
