FACE Performs At The Boulder Theater

Boulder’s music lovers were treated to a night of harmony and heart on January 9, 2025. The acclaimed all-vocal rock group FACE finally took the stage at the Boulder Theater after two weather-related postponements. Fans had been waiting patiently as high winds in December forced the show’s rescheduling not once but twice, first from December 17 and then from December 19, before settling on the new date on January 9, 2026.

Long known for their dynamic performances that blend modern tunes with rich vocal harmonies, crisp beat-box rhythms, and an infectious stage presence, FACE has been a Boulder favorite for more than two decades. The group originally formed in Boulder in 2002 and gained national attention as one of the original ensembles featured on the television competition series The Sing-Off. Along the way they have earned accolades including multiple audience awards and “Quintet of the Year” honors, and they have dazzled audiences at iconic venues both here and abroad.. They have even highlighted at Red Rocks!

The January 9 show lived up to the buzz. When doors opened that evening, anticipation was high after weeks of weather drama that had turned a holiday-season concert into a new year celebration. Inside the Boulder Theater, friends, families, and longtime fans came together in the warm glow of an eagerly awaited performance. The acoustics of the historic venue framed each intricate harmony and rhythmic vocal flourish so that every note seemed to resonate deep into the audience.

FACE’s sets were a journey through style and emotion. With covers ranging from Christmas carols to rock favorites to soulful ballads and clever arrangements that brought fresh energy to well-known songs, the band showed why they remain a standout in a cappella music. The crowd laughed and swayed in time, sharing in the joy that live vocal music uniquely offers. Audience members remarked afterward how the show felt like a celebration of community, resilience, and the pure delight of live performance.

For Boulder Theater regulars and first-time attendees alike, the January 9 show was a reminder of why local live music matters. After battling Boulder’s winter winds and multiple postponements, the connection between band and crowd was all the sweeter. FACE left the stage to cheers and applause that lingered long after the final chord faded, a perfect start to the new year for fans and performers alike.

If you missed this one, keep an eye out for FACE’s next homecoming show at Nissi’s in Lafayette. With their blend of vocal virtuosity and engaging stage charisma, they continue to define what it means to celebrate music together in Boulder.

FACE is ready for their 1-20-2026 show at Nissi’s in Lafayette.
