Village Fit Co. is a boutique community gym planning to open soon in Old Magnolia near Unity Park.

The specifics

Village Fit plans to offer a wide variety of programs and services, including but not limited to:

Strength and conditioningEndurance-based trainingFunctional fitnessPersonal trainingYouth programs, leadership classes and Pilates24-hour accessRun club and community eventsOnsite childcareThe owner

Founder Kayla Medellin said she believes a core aspect of the gym environment is community.

Medellin said her brother passed away when he was only 18, and he loved to build and restore spaces. She said Village Fit Co. means more than a community gym to her, as it represents a “second chance.”

“Many families no longer have that support around them,” Medellin said. “And it’s time we build the village we all need—not just in Old Magnolia, but across this country. Parents shouldn’t have to choose between fitness and family. They’re meant to go hand in hand.”
