If you’re older than 60 in Alabama, you might qualify for a little extra money you can use at your local farmers market.
The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program offers $50 in benefits for low-income residents buying food at farmers markets, including at the Tuscaloosa Farmers Market.
Funds run out quickly, so if you are or know someone who might benefit from the program apply ASAP. Funds are available starting in May, and recipients will be mailed a physical card to use for the program.
You can apply for the program right here, but if you use the Tuscaloosa Farmers Market and need assistance, you can call 205-248-5295 for assistance.
