MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Thursday confirmed that 11 people in the state were sickened by Salmonella from Live it Up-brand Super Greens dietary supplement powders.
The DHS said two Wisconsinites were hospitalized with Salmonella infections. Those who have purchased the powder should avoid eating or drinking it, and throw away or return it. Make sure to wash any items or surfaces that might have come into contact with the powder.
The first Wisconsin case connected to the outbreak reported symptoms on Oct. 1, 2025. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for all Live it Up-brand Super Greens dietary supplement powder, including original and wild berry flavors, with expiration dates between October 2026 and January 2028.
The FDA, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Wisconsin Division of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection are working with the DHS to investigate the outbreak.
If you’ve recently consumed the powder, monitor for symptoms of a Salmonella infection like diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps.
