Like clockwork every January, many of us feel the need to revamp our health and wellness routines in pursuit of our best selves. Making New Year’s resolutions can feel like a way to take stock of our lives and make positive changes, but they can also lead to feelings of stress and discouragement when they don’t stick.

Rather than aiming for huge lifestyle changes that may leave you feeling overwhelmed after a few weeks, it’s recommended to instead build small daily habits that support your wellness goals. Investing in a few key items that support these goals can help make the transition smoother, whether that’s with the latest wearable tech or creating a sleep-supporting routine.

We chatted with Kayne Masih, Best Buy Canada’s category general manager – wearables, personal care and emerging tech, to get the lowdown on the biggest wellness trends of 2026, and discover the gadgets and gear to help you stick with your goals.

Key 2026 wellness tech trends: Beauty, sleep and recovery

According to Masih, the biggest wellness trends of the year revolve around beauty, sleep and muscle recovery. Most notably, he says that discreet wearables have seen significant growth over the past two years.

“Red light therapy for skin care, pain management and hair health continues to be a trend on social media. We also saw red light therapy devices being integrated into products like blow dryers, wraps and blankets at CES [the Consumer Electronics Show, the world’s biggest annual tech trade show] this year,” says Masih.

Gear that helps people track and get assistance with their sleep is also a major trend as more people are focusing on the importance of sleep hygiene and meeting their sleep goals.

“Rings like Oura and Ultrahuman are popular for sleep tracking. Not only do they support wellness aspirations, but they also lean into fashion trends,” adds Masih. “Products like the Hatch Restore smart alarm clock can help with winding down at night and waking up gradually with brightening light.”

He notes that he himself recently started using a Google Pixel Watch 4 to track his workouts and sleep.

“I’m not using it as the only source of truth but it does help me directionally in terms of how my workout or sleep compares to the past few days. The other thing I occasionally use is a Therabody massage gun to recover from any aches and pains over the week.”

Simplified connected technology

If you’re looking to invest in new gear to support your wellness goals for the year, Masih notes that it’s easier than ever to add to your roster of devices. Shoppers are no longer restricted to one ecosystem as cross-platform connectivity between brands is expanding.

“[It goes] beyond simply tracking to now prescribing a solution based on your lifestyle,” he shared. “For example, a Garmin watch can tell you what kind of recovery you need with Therabody devices based on the intensity of your workout.”

Wellness at every price point

While many wellness devices initially began at a premium price point, the category has gradually expanded into more affordable price ranges with additional brands entering the market. Masih shared some of his top picks below:
