Statement lips are staging a comeback.
Perhaps it’s the 2016 nostalgia, or maybe just “clean girl” exhaustion; either way, Armani Beauty‘s Luminous Silk Lounge event was certainly rife with them on Thursday night in Los Angeles, where stars such as Dakota Fanning and Pia Mia gathered to celebrate the brand’s hero line, donning a kaleidoscope of red lipstick. The shades ranged from matte crimson to deep rose, blood-garnet and everything glossy in between, with Ali Larter donning the darkest tone.
Here, WWD takes a look at all the red lips at the Armani Beauty party, including Fanning, Larter and more.

Dakota Fanning
Dakota Fanning’s party glam featured a faded rose lip, frosty pink blush and a tinge of silver shimmer on her lids. The “Uptown Girls” actress typically collaborates with makeup artist Erin Ayanian Monroe; however, it’s not certain that Monroe did her makeup on Thursday night. WWD has reached out for confirmation.
Pia Mia

Pia Mia
Pia Mia’s aesthetic fell somewhere between no makeup, makeup and early 2000s party girl glam, complete with a matte red lip, dark brows and curled lashes. Her base was, for the most part, even-toned, embellished with only a faint layer of blush over her cheekbones.
The singer, whose persona is often marked by a bold red lip, has been feeding into the viral 2016 nostalgia, along with the rest of the internet. A recent post on Instagram saw her recreate her “Do It Again” music video look with red lipstick and a red bandana.
Ali Larter

Ali Larter
Ali Larter’s lipstick skewed on the Gothic side of the color wheel. The “Landman” star stained her lips in a dimmed garnet hue and dusted her eyes in a charcoal shadow, which pooled under her waterline. Meanwhile, her cheeks were adorned with rose blush and a light bronzer. Larter has been known to work with celebrity makeup artist Georgie Eisdell, whose A-list client roster also includes Jennifer Lawrence, Dakota Johnson and Gwyneth Paltrow. However, Eisdell was not behind Larter’s Thursday night look. Larter has yet to credit the artist.
Andra Day

Andra Day
Andra Day harked back to Y2K makeup trends, donning a glossy red lip and a shimmery smoky eye. Her shadow consisted of metallic and charcoal hues; the darker tones casting a cloud over her crease next to a thick line of liquid black. The singer, born Cassandra Monique Batie, also colored her waterline with black, buffing gray and brown tones underneath. In the past, she’s tapped global makeup artist Shyanna Lundi; however, Lundi was not the visionary behind her glam at the Armani Beauty event. Day has yet to credit the artist who helped bring her makeup to life.
