Holistic wellness advocate, mom of six, professional baker, entrepreneur … This week’s FACE of Memphis has an impressive list of accomplishments under her belt. Jasmin Day is the co-owner of Ease Wellness, which offers natural therapies and holistic wellness treatment. Plus, she’s turned her love of healthy eating into a side hustle for wholesome, homemade goodies.

What was your career path before co-founding a business with your husband?
I primarily used my knowledge of wellness, parenting, and biblical womanhood to simply serve others. It was honestly kind of difficult to move from doing it “for free” to seeing the value of transferring into a paid setting.
Over the years, I’ve had brand partnerships and done affiliate marketing, but until influencing became the professional gig it is now, I never would’ve claimed it as a career. Looking back, I can see how it all played together and was the path I walked to where I am now.
When we first opened, we were the only space in Memphis to offer everything we have. As wellness folks ourselves, we saw the lack of support for foundational wellness and healing modalities, so we wanted to meet this need in our community. We were sold on the benefits of our business and knew this would be such a blessing for so many here in Memphis.
My husband and I are both “all in” when it comes to this — it’s not a side gig or a fun project. We interact with our clients, answer emails, and consult on care plans. I truly think our customer service is unmatched at any other “walk-in” wellness space in the area.

What is your role at Ease Wellness?
Bouncing ideas and tag-team decision-making is our “normal.” Marketing generally falls to me; I handle social media and PR, and hand off in-person needs to Josh. My major at the University of Memphis was communications, so I enjoy that aspect of owning a business. Josh is more of a big picture person, and I love figuring out how to implement the details to make our shared dream come to life.
What first attracted you to natural therapies and holistic wellness?
I had a roommate in college who was pretty natural-minded, and I saw how intentional she was with the products she used and the way she ate. After seeing the benefits, I started implementing more mindful choices, which grew into a way of living. I became even more intentional about the choices that I make for my children!
Pin“Before we knew it, I was the ‘crunchy mom’ that everybody came to with their questions,” says Jasmin. “As holistic living became more normalized, we shifted from being the people everyone made fun of to experts on the topic.” Image: Jasmin Day
What do you wish more people understood about the therapies you offer?
Most people come to us because of a problem or issue. I wish more people understood the benefits of the preventative care we offer as well. By using our services regularly, you’re creating a healthy foundation that complements an overall lifestyle of wellness. I would love to see this implemented as a norm, before the point of needing to repair bodies.
What philosophy guides the services you offer and the overall experience at Ease Wellness?
We run Ease with the foundational idea that we have something for everyone. Regardless of your age, gender, or lifestyle norms, every single person needs a little self-care or healing. We live in a world that is go-go-go!
Ease Wellness offers space to refuel and rest, elevated services for deeper healing, and the encouragement to learn and grow. We offer discounts and a scholarship option because we know how hard it is to prioritize healthy norms on a limited budget.

You also offer wholesome, healthy treats for purchase online. What was the inspiration behind opening JDay Bakes?
When I had my first child, I refused to miss out on celebrating my babes with yummy treats, just because we were eating clean. I worked at Muddy’s in college, so I had a good basis for baking and cake decorating, and it was honestly so much fun to learn how to transition this into clean eating.
In recent years, I’ve been able to meet a need in the Memphis wellness community. Sometimes it’s for artificial- and dye-free orders or specific allergies, and sometimes I bake for other intentional parents who want to give their kids organic ingredients instead of traditional ones.
What is your most popular treat so far?
I love making smash cakes, and they’re my biggest seller. They’re a little nostalgic; there’s a freedom for the decorating to be imperfect, and it’s also sweet (pun intended) to know the parents are making an intentional choice at an early age to prioritize the foods their baby is getting.

Switching gears a little, where can we find you when you aren’t working?
I am a homebody through and through. I have worked so hard to make my home the perfect little haven for our family, and it’s my favorite place to be. Our East Memphis neighborhood is so wonderful; you’ll find me chilling outside while my children play or taking daily walks around the neighborhood.
What’s something that people are surprised to learn about you?
I still get acrylic nails! I think many people have a hard time finding balance within the holistic community and expect me to live a 100% perfectly “crunchy” life. I love the 90/10 or 80/20 mentality. I like to say I make intentional choices 100% of the time, but I have the space to grab a Dr. Pepper at dinner every once in a while without fear, shame, or regret.
PinWhile always prioritizing her family, Jasmin is honing in on more intentional ways to support moms and families virtually. “I am creating a few cool guides that will be available for purchase online in the next few months,” she explains. “Depending on what I can handle, some of them may transfer into personal workshops as well.” Image: Natassia Lopez, Memphis Family Stories
If you could give one piece of wellness advice to every person who walks through your door, what would it be?
Don’t stress about extreme detoxes or supplements until you have a healthy foundation of wellness in place. Fresh air, movement, and sunshine are free and the best places to start to complement anything you’re doing behind our doors.
Aside from faith, family, and friends, what are three things you can’t live without?
Our weekly Sabbath, the beach, and Do Not Disturb on my cell phone.
