Looking for a new workout? These eight gyms and boutique studios either recently opened or are slated to open in 2026. Break a sweat in a variety of classes, from cycling and strength training to flow yoga and Pilates.
Newly opened
Lūneh Yoga
2000 S St., NW
The Dupont Circle studio offers yoga classes in addition to Pilates, qigong, meditation, and more. Classes range from foundational overviews to mobility courses and challenging sculpt flows. Two studio rooms are stocked with light weights, Pilates balls, and yoga blocks, and there’s a locker area for personal belongings.
Past Tense Yoga Studio
3131 Mt. Pleasant St., NW
While not new to the neighborhood, the Mt. Pleasant studio recently moved to a bigger, more accessible space with two classrooms and a ground-level entrance. (The former studio was located on the second story of a building, and owners Alicia Moyer and Kelly DiNardo noticed many members couldn’t easily navigate the studio.) You’ll still find a variety of classes for all ages, from children to seniors. Take a moment to center yourself with a morning vinyasa or unwind after a long day in a gentle flow class.
Coming this year
RM Balance opens in Georgetown in February. Photo by Damira Kalajzic.
RM Balance
3210 Grace St NW
This boutique studio in Georgetown will offer yoga, mat Pilates, meditation, sound baths, and more starting in February. Owner Regina McLinden opened Georgetown spa RM Wellness in 2024, and many of her clients expressed they don’t have accessible options for their individual mobility needs. McLinden formed RM Balance to provide slower, gentler classes limited to six to 10 people per session. Offerings include a Bliss Bodywork Nidra session, which uses massage and meditation to promote deep relaxation. The space will be equipped with heated floors, and all equipment is provided, so there’s no need to bring a mat. Private instruction will also be available.
Jetset Modern Pilates
1280 Union St., NE
The first DC location opens in early 2026 near Union Market, featuring high-intensity, low-impact Pilates sessions choreographed to DJ-curated playlists. Their signature Jetsetter Reformer class is a strenuous 50-minute program, but if you’re new to Pilates, the beginner-level Jetset Fundamentals class will help you perfect your form and get comfortable with the machine.
Sweat DC
1818 7th St., NW
A fifth DC location is opening in Shaw in March. The gym focuses on strength training, offering group and personal programs. During group classes, participants get individual squat racks and tailored training advice.
Rev’d
1330 1st St., SE
Rev’d is an indoor cycling and fitness studio slated to open in Navy Yard in April. Instructors use the rhythm of music to motivate cyclists through resistance and speed challenges. Not into spinning? According to DC franchise owner Jessica Taylor, Rev’d will also feature sessions that utilize Pilates Reformer machines to build strength.
Movement Fairfax
11750 Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax
Movement Fairfax, the second Movement location in the DC area, will have more than 37,000 square feet of climbing terrain, yoga studios, cardio machines, and weight-training equipment. The large indoor climbing section will include roped training and bouldering areas for different levels. Youth programs will also be available, including after-school activities, teams, and camps.
Onelife Fitness
2910 District Ave., Merrifield
The fitness chain has a number of locations around the DC area, and the latest gym is coming to the Mosaic District later this year. It will have options for cardio, lifting, sports, swimming, and group fitness in the 50,000 square-feet facility. Members can decompress after a workout with amenities such as saunas, whirlpools, and hydro-massages.
