Bullseye Sandwich from Nate’s Kosher Deli (Bill Motchan)
Missouri’s only certified kosher deli is officially back in business. Nate’s Kosher Deli began offering a selection of take-out sandwiches on Monday, Feb. 2, at its new Clayton location, 7923 Forsyth Blvd. Shortly after the 10:30 a.m. opening, a steady stream of customers filtered in to check out the menu.
Earlier in 2025, Nate’s operated briefly out of the former Kohn Kosher Deli space in Creve Coeur. The Clayton opening marks the deli’s latest chapter, bringing kosher-certified options back to the area.
Nate’s is accepting orders by phone or WhatsApp at 557-231-9507. The menu includes burgers, chicken bites, sandwiches, wraps and salads, all certified kosher by the Vaad Hoeir of St. Louis.
On opening day, one of the most popular items was the “bullseye” schnitzel sandwich, served on a toasted baguette with crunchy beef bacon, caramelized onions, sliced avocado, lettuce and a sweet and spicy sesame sauce.
That sandwich was what Edward Pernik came to pick up.
“We needed a kosher deli,” Pernik said. “It’s very good for the Jewish community.”
Nate’s is open 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 10:30 am. to 2 p.m. Fridays.
