Ruston High held its first Miss Red and White pageant this past weekend in the school’s auditorium with Alayna Maryland taking the top honors and winning the crown.
“I thought the Miss Red and White pageant went great,” Ruston High Principal Dan Gressett said. “This was our first year hosting a pageant. I thought we had a great group of ladies that participated and a great turnout from the community.
“Our student council members handled all of the details of the pageant, particularly Melissa Le and JJ Hoover. We weren’t sure what exactly it would be like, but I thought it went really well. I feel like this is something we’ll continue doing.”
The contestants competed in two events: Fun Fashion and Evening Gown. The judges were Keith Geter, Gaundhi Hays, Jeanne Patterson, Nicole Postel, and Lindsey Keith-Vincent.
