Sonia Bompastor says Lucy Bronze will miss out again when Chelsea take on Spurs on Sunday.

Bronze missed Chelsea’s heavy defeat to Manchester City with a shin problem, which will sideline her again this weekend.

Aggie Beever-Jones could also miss out after suffering a knock against City.

“Lucy won’t be in the squad for the weekend and we are still assessing Aggie to see if she will be in the squad,” Bompastor said.

“We still have two training sessions before the game.”

On Bronze, she added: “We’re still assessing options for her to make the right individual decision.”

Bompastor also confirmed Mayra Ramirez has suffered a setback in her recovery.

“Mayra was supposed to return in the last few days but picked up a little calf injury during rehab, so there’s no timeline yet,” she said.

Speaking after the defeat to City, Bompastor pointed to a lack of options as a key reason for Chelsea’s drop off this season.

And the Blues boss wished to clarify that injuries have been the biggest challenge for her side.

“I tried to say the squad depth has been affected by key players missing in key positions – that’s probably the main reason we are in this situation,” she said.

“English is not my first language and maybe because of the language barrier, I didn’t express that clearly.

“I have felt the support of the club since my first day and I do not feel under pressure. They support me, they support the players.”
