“I heard a huge explosion and three young girls screaming, they were accompanied by a child,” said a local business owner while speaking to France 3.

A video of the incident was uploaded to social media several hours after the attack. The footage, which was seemingly shared by the perpetrators, shows a masked individual attempting to force their way into the salon. The person then appears to throw something on the floor of the shop and flee along with the person filming.

Étienne Manteaux, the public prosecutor of Grenoble, said that the explosive device was “small,” and that he believes it was intended to scare and intimidate as opposed to cause serious harm, according to France 3.
