Opelika, AL — Southern Union State Community College is now enrolling students in its Therapeutic Massage Program, a dynamic and hands-on program designed to prepare individuals for rewarding careers as Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs) in today’s rapidly growing health and wellness industry.
Southern Union’s Therapeutic Massage program offers students a well-rounded education that blends classroom instruction, hands-on lab experiences, clinical sessions, and community outreach opportunities — ensuring graduates are confident, skilled and workforce-ready. The program equips students with the knowledge and practical training needed to pursue professional licensure through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and/or a state board of massage therapy upon successful completion.
Graduates of the program may choose from a wide range of career paths, including self-employment or employment in medical clinics, chiropractic offices, athletic departments, health clubs, spas, salons, and holistic health centers. As demand for therapeutic massage continues to rise, the field is actively seeking outgoing, energetic professionals committed to improving client health and wellness.
