Tamira Tserendavaa is a personal trainer and health coach. On Dec. 27, 2025, Tserendavaa opened her own fitness studio in the Twin Lakes area of Federal Way.
The community, including new and longtime clients of the trainer, gathered as she cut the ribbon of the new fitness space called Pure Strength Studio after nearly 5 years of training people in her garage.
“I remember at the time, I was just throwing it out there, to probably have a bigger space. I didn’t think it would happen this fast after signing the lease on Nov. 15,” said Tserendavaa. “The classes were in high demand, and you know, in Washington, it’s cold and rainy, so it’s nearly impossible just to keep running classes in my garage.”
The classes offered are the original format from when she taught in her garage, such as strength training with a variety of mountain climbers, jumping jacks, and weightlifting, and personal training. There is now a new additional class due to Tserendavaa receiving her certification in Pilates.
“You still do the big compound movements like lifting weights,” said Tserendavaa. “But we just dedicate 10 to 15 minutes to Mat Pilates core work.”
The studio consists of two sections. As people enter the door, they will see a training area with rubber flooring and equipment such as kettlebells and squat racks. On the other side, there is an area designated for yoga, meditation and calming/relaxation.
As of now, the trainer does not have a designated area for children, but it could change.
“I was told by the city, as long as the kids are sitting on the mat or in a little gated area or stroller, there is no issue with that,” said Tserendavaa. “I am going to look into offering, like a toddler napping class, where I just play kids’ music, and they can stay in the area.”
On the day of the grand opening, people in the community signed up for classes, with the first one starting in January.
Some of the fitness trainers’ clients who have been with her since the beginning congratulated her on the new studio, along with some new ones. Lauren Verdini is a longtime client of the fitness trainer. She now attends Strength + Mat Pilates and Cardio + Mat Pilates. She has been working with Tserendavaa since 2018.
“This has been her dream ever since I met her … I’m so proud of her and her family,” says Verdini. “The space is completely transformed and looks luxurious … She is a fantastic person and she will push you to work hard and encourage you to go beyond what you think you can.”
Brian Smith is a newer client. Smith has been attending the strength/pilates class since October 2025. Since the grand opening, he has done three to four classes in the new studio.
“Tamira has helped me so much,” said Smith. “I feel so much healthier everyday … This studio is a huge benefit for the neighborhood to have such a supportive and welcoming trainer.”
Rob Van Orsow has been a client of the instructor for over six years. He said each day she challenges to better his health.
“Tamira is a gifted trainer,” said Van Orsow. “She’s caring and she makes her workouts fun plus she knows just the right stretches for whenever I get stiff or sore.”
After the opening, many of the trainer’s clients spread the word throughout the community.
“I posted on Facebook and told my friends and family to come join me. I am trying to tell everyone I know,” said Verdini.
Aside from creating a space for people in the community to maintain their health, Tserendavaa said she couldn’t have done it with the support of her clients and family.
“I am just so grateful,” said Tserendavaa. “You know, these people came into my life, and most importantly, they stayed in my life, and that’s very beautiful …I am their cheerleader, but they’re also my cheerleader. When I’m down, they’re the ones who tell me I got it.”
Due to the more classes offered and bigger spacing, there may be more staffing needed.
“I have one trainer who’s very experienced, “ said Tserendavaa. “Her name is Rennee and has been on stage bodybuilding since before I was born … but I would love to be open to other people who are passionate about this work, not just the paycheck, like really wanting to help others … I want to see the same passion and purpose in their eyes.”
Pure Strength Studio is at 3400 SW 320th St., C-3, Federal Way, in the Twin Lakes Plaza.
