Sales of sustainable seafood supplements in the UK and Ireland nearly doubled in 2025, reaching £12.8 million ($17.4m), according to the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)’s UK and Ireland Market Report.
This represents a 99% increase over 2024, driven by more brands offering MSC-certified products.
Marine collagen is a major growth area, with brands including Ancient and Brave, Bare Biology, Planet Paleo, and Zinzino now selling MSC-certified options made from healthy fish stocks and by-products that would otherwise go to waste.
Cod liver oil and other omega-3 supplements remain top sellers, with retailers such as Morrisons and Tesco adding MSC-certified own-brand ranges.
“The surge highlights the huge potential in this sector,” said Rowan Williams, MSC UK and Ireland commercial officer.
The growth in supplements contributed to a 14% rise in overall MSC-labelled product sales in the UK and Ireland in 2025, totaling £1.7 billion.
