Leaked renders of Casio’s upcoming GBX-H5600 suggest the brand is merging its surf-focused G-Lide design with full-fledged G-Squad fitness tracking. The square watch appears set to add heart rate monitoring, solar power, and Bluetooth connectivity to Casio’s growing sports lineup.

It’s no secret that Casio is working on a new G-Shock series with advanced heart rate tracking capabilities. We first learned about the GBX-H5600 back in October when it received certification by a Chinese regulatory body, CMIIT. Then, a separate leak in January hinted that Casio could be eyeing a spring or summer release window for its new fitness-centric watch. Now leaked renders of the G-Shock GBX-H5600-1 and GBX-H5600-2 have surfaced, giving us our first real look at what appears to be a mashup of surf-ready G-Lide aesthetics and full-blown G-Squad fitness tracking.

Renders, courtesy of Casioblog, reveal an unmistakably square watch, borrowing heavily from the Casio G-Shock GBX-100, with its MIP display, familiar font, and tide graph layout. But front and center, stamped boldly across the top of the dial, is the phrase “Heart Rate.” This is because the GBX-H5600 appears to inherit the fitness brain of the Casio G-Shock DW-H5600 (curr. $268 on Amazon)

The leaked renders show off two variants: the black GBX-H5600-1 and the blue GBX-H5600-2, both featuring translucent dials and cases. We can also see the G-LIDE logo imprinted on the strap, suggesting clear water-sport ambitions.

Given the mashup of the GBX-100 and DW-H5600, we can expect the new watches to offer features like an optical heart rate sensor, step tracking, calorie burn estimates, pace and distance metrics, sleep monitoring, tide graphs, and moon phase indicators,s as well as multiple sport modes including running, cycling, swimming, and strength training. Bluetooth support should enable smartphone notifications and allow the watch to piggyback on your phone’s GPS for more accurate distance tracking. Solar charging is expected, and there’s hope wired USB charging will make the cut as well.

If these leaks hold true, the GBX-H5600 would meaningfully broaden Casio’s heart-rate-enabled square offerings. With certifications already in place and prior leaks hinting at a Spring or Summer 2026 debut, the official announcement may be closer than we think.
