KINGSTON, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — The Friedman Jewish Community Center is welcoming residents to take part in Love Week, a fiveday celebration of wellness and connection.
The JCC is opening its doors to the public, and visitors receive a complimentary sevenday Love Week pass with no membership required.
The week includes free fitness classes, open gym time and special activities.
Guests can take part in free movement classes including dance, yoga, mobility and Zumba.
Open gym time will also be available to give individuals and families a chance to move, unwind and try something new.
Love Week also highlights a wider range of community programs beyond sports, including Art Appreciation classes and a Paint and Sip event hosted with Nina Davidowitz Art Studio, which requires advance registration and a fee.
The week’s schedule also includes a Heart and Paddle mixed doubles pickleball session and a permanent jewelry popup with Glimmer and Grace, with the jewelry vendor appearing Thursday evening.
Carla Weiss, the JCC’s director of marketing and programming, helped develop Love Week after joining the staff about three months ago.
Weiss, who grew up as an active member of the JCC, said she created the program to highlight the center’s focus on community.
“We’re holding these events to benefit the community and to help spread the word that we’re here, and we’re here for them. We want people to come to our center and experience what we’re all about. Whether it’s to be social, play cards, paint or play pickleball, we’re here for them, and we want to be a light in our community,” said Weiss.
She said she hopes the week encourages more people to explore the facility and participate in its programs throughout the year.
The JCC encourages community members to bring friends and explore programs that promote wellness, creativity and connection.
Members who refer a friend who signs up for an annual membership receive two months free.
Love Week runs through Friday, February 13, 2026.
