The approaching Tri-County Home & Health Expo is a
community health and wellness event where natural health and medical providers,
wellness vendors, and health-related organizations come together under one roof
to share information, services and resources with the public. It’s designed to
give families and individuals opportunities to learn about healthy lifestyles,
meet providers, and explore health-focused products and services in one place.
The expo will take place from 8 a.m. to 7
p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Heritage Community
Center, 3558 U.S. Route 62, Millersburg, between Berlin and
Winesburg.
The home and health expo is organized to bring natural
health and conventional medical providers together so visitors can explore what
is out there in today’s health and wellness world, pick up some freebies, experience
educational seminars, and chat with exhibitors about products, services and
health tips.

“We’re in our 17th year, and this all started
when my dad Dennis wanted to create something that would give women something
to do during the air works show,” event organizer Marcus Keim said. “While
there is a lot geared toward women, there is something there for everyone.”
Educational content will be available throughout the two
days, with seminars and talks aimed at helping attendees make informed health
choices, and the speaker lineup is impressive.
“It’s mid-winter, and people are getting cabin fever, and in
recent years, people have been investing heavily in a more holistic,
well-balanced approach to health and wellness,” Keim said. “Our goal is to
provide a venue to help people treat the causes rather than the symptoms and
help people explore healthier new ways to stay well.”
Jerry Hohlfeld will discuss the hidden dangers of food; Mary
Beth Miller of Nature’s Warehouse will delve into her personal journey with
multiple sclerosis; Lydia Zook will touch on becoming a good in-home doctor;
David Keim will discuss hormones, depression and autoimmune issues; Dave Struckman
will focus on cell signaling molecules; Joe Miller will talk about the nervous
system; Brenda Berry will feature healing through light therapy; Dr. Alvarez
will discuss finding hope through alternative treatments; Roxanne Weaver will
talk about why wellness matters; and Lydia Zook will zero in on Lyme disease.
“These are all very topical and extremely important issues
in the world of health and wellness today, and our speakers are incredibly knowledgeable,”
Keim said. “The amount of valuable insight people can receive from these
seminars is amazing.”

Local health services like mobile health screenings including
artery testing, blood pressure checks and more will be conducted as part of
community outreach by professionals from Aultman, Pomerene Hospital, Valley View Health Clinic, Immunity Therapy Group and Wooster Community Hospital.
“Just as importantly, people can connect and ask questions,”
Keim said.
The show will feature plenty of health and wellness booths
featuring providers of natural remedies, lifestyle products, holistic health
services and medical care, and as a bonus, the show recently expanded to include
more home products.
While the speakers will be a highlight, visitors also can glean
valuable information by connecting with and learning from the many health
professionals and vendors on-site.

Books, Natural Herbs, Charm Gifts & Nature’s Herbs, Heal with Herbs, Nature’s
Warehouse, Essential Oils and more.
Keim said adding the home portion of the show only helps
create more variety. Bringing in popular brand companies like
Tupperware, Norwex, Princess House, Leom Grass Spa, Sisel Products coffee and
more presents an array of options for people to explore.
“We’re blessed with a huge number of outstanding providers
and companies that create a great place to spend a day,” Keim said.
Focusing on mental health issues is important today, and the expo will offer plenty of insight into staying focused on a healthy lifestyle.

On the home side of the venue, experts from Yoder’s Home
Sofas and First Choice Mattress will be among the companies offering options. Or perhaps take time to experience the relaxing joy of one of EC Health
Services’ massage chairs, an offer that is free to patrons.
Patrons will have a chance to have their name drawn
to receive one of the $300 shopping sprees that will be drawn Friday
at 1 and 4 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m.
In addition, the crew from Smokin’ Chippers will be on hand
to deliver food including breakfast, lunch and dinner.
