Law enforcement recently participated in a three-day health and wellness training focusing on the mind held in Washington.
The Washington Police Department hosted the program titled Mind Strong Health and Wellness Training, which is a resiliency program designed specifically for law enforcement and public safety professionals.
WPD officers were joined by other law enforcement officers from police departments from Muscatine, Coralville, and Atlantic, as well as staff from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
Mind Strong equips first responders with practical tools to prepare for the stress that comes with the job, withstand pressure during critical incidents, recover from traumatic events, and grow stronger through those experiences.
This training has been held across the state over the past year in part to a grant received by the Atlantic Police Department. The event was held at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington.
