For Lindy Ann Pearson, the path to becoming a wellness leader in Southern California was not a straight line but a journey toward balance and meaning.

After 15 years in the fast-paced commercial real estate industry, Pearson felt a persistent pull toward something deeper.

“That curiosity eventually led me to get my 200-hour yoga certification,” she said. “Before I knew it, I was teaching private sessions, subbing at local studios, and leading international retreats on the side. Everything really shifted after a trip to Peru, where time spent in the Sacred Valley completely changed my perspective.”

When she returned home, Pearson discovered Oxygen Yoga & Fitness, a company founded about 15 years ago in Canada that expanded to the United States three years ago, opening its first local studio in Calabasas.

“I took a class, instantly connected with the space and the owner, and just knew something big was about to change,” she said.

Her intuition proved correct. After helping grow the Calabasas community, Pearson became the Southern California area representative and later opened her own studio in Agoura Hills.

“What started as a personal passion has turned into a way to support others through movement, connection, and community,” she said.

Pearson, 48, is married and the mother of two college-aged children. She said her family life and personal wellness journey shape her approach as a studio owner and teacher.

“Family life, along with my own personal wellness journey, plays a huge role in how I show up as a studio owner and teacher,” she said. “I truly believe in balance — between work, family, movement and mindfulness — and that philosophy is woven into everything we do at the studio.”

Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and an alumna of UC Santa Barbara, Pearson said her work is deeply rooted in her hometown.

“Being able to build and support a wellness community in the place I grew up feels incredibly full-circle and deeply rewarding,” she said.

Pearson said what sets Oxygen Yoga & Fitness apart in a crowded boutique fitness market is its approach to doing things “differently.”

“Our main goal is to show you that a workout can be both high-intensity and incredibly healing,” she said.

“We specialize in a unique mix of yoga and fitness fusion classes — think intense cardio and core work paired with deep stretching and mental ‘zen.’”

She said the studio’s Far Infrared heat technology distinguishes it from traditional hot yoga.

“But the real magic happens with our ‘Far Infrared’ heat. Unlike a traditional hot yoga studio that can feel stifling, our infrared panels give off a gentle, radiant warmth that sinks deep into your muscles and joints rather than just heating up the air.”

Pearson described the benefits of the technology this way: “The deep heat helps with everything from detoxification and pain relief to boosting your immune system and clearing up your skin. It’s also amazing for weight loss and shaking off stress. We want everyone who walks through our doors to hit their fitness goals, but leave feeling totally rejuvenated and relaxed. It’s not just a workout; it’s about feeling better from the inside out.”

Beyond physical fitness, Pearson said the studio has become a pillar of local support.

“Community is truly at the heart of everything we do,” she said. “We’re proud to sponsor local traditions like the Reyes Adobe Festival and The Great Race, and we love supporting our local schools.”

In addition to being active members of the Chamber of Commerce, Pearson said the studio prioritizes accessibility.

“Every month, we host free ‘Karma’ events for anyone who needs a little TLC but might not have the means to pay,” she said.

“We also love diving deep into wellness through workshops like breathwork, sound baths, Reiki, and Kundalini. Whether it’s celebrating the Equinox and Solstice, teaching Yoga 101, or exploring past life regressions, we always try to offer something special that helps our community grow and heal together.”

To get started, Pearson recommends downloading the Oxygen Yoga & Fitness app to view class schedules and book a session.
