I love nothing more than to walk into a TJ Maxx for a “quick looksie” and walk out with a glorious pile of things I didn’t know I needed but now cannot live without. That’s the magic of the ‘Maxx — honestly, few places deliver the same level of consumer serotonin, at least for me.

While TJ Maxx known as a mecca of discounted designer fashion and unique home decor, its beauty section is wildly underrated. Tucked between shelves of candles and handbags, you’ll find prestige skin care, salon-worthy hair tools, designer fragrance and K-beauty staples at prices that will make you do a double take. I have spotted brands like Byredo, Augustinus Bader and Gucci Beauty alongside Dr. Jart+, Innisfree and Laneige, all at crazy deep discounts.

Now, in case you’ve read somewhere that discounted beauty products are automatically sketchy, let’s clear that up. TJ Maxx (and its sister store, Marshalls) are legitimate off-price retailers under the TJX umbrella. On its corporate site, TJX explains that it sources merchandise by taking advantage of opportunities like department store order cancellations, excess production from manufacturers and end of season closeouts when vendors need to clear inventory. In other words, when brands overproduce, retailers overbuy, or packaging gets updated, TJX purchases that surplus and sells it at a lower price.

Even better, you don’t have to shop in person to score these finds. As fun as the brick-and-mortar treasure hunt can be, I’ve found the online beauty sections to be just as stacked, with constantly rotating inventory and the same satisfying price tags, minus the long lines and hectic Saturday crowds.

I say we start off strong with some K-beauty cult favorites, like this anti-redness hero from Dr. Jart+. This green to beige cream uses centella asiatica to calm irritation while instantly neutralizing flushed skin. It doubles as skin care and daily sun protection, making it an easy staple for sensitive complexions. The best part? It’s over $50 at Sephora, so finding it at such a huge discount feels like you just uncovered buried treasure.

This stunning, sheer matte lipstick delivers a wash of color with a lightweight, comfortable feel. The vintage-inspired packaging alone is enough to make it covetable, but getting a designer lipstick at this price is hard to resist.

K-beauty obsessives have been recommending this serum to me for ages, so I couldn’t add it to my cart fast enough. It’s a glow-focused ampoule that aims to brighten, calm and hydrate in one step. With antioxidant support from glutathione, tone evening benefits from niacinamide and barrier-loving centella, it delivers that vibrant, glassy finish K-beauty practically invented.

My jaw dropped when I saw this cult fave at TJ Maxx. With notes of bergamot, juniper berries, vanilla and sandalwood, this scent is warm, woody and addictive. It’s a favorite fragrance of celebs like Jennifer Garner and sells for upwards of $330 elsewhere. Since Byredo perfumes are notoriously luxurious and pricey, I would not hesitate on this one.

This brightening serum targets discoloration with ingredients like niacinamide and vitamin C to help even tone over time. It’s designed to work on stubborn hyperpigmentation without overwhelming the skin. Treatment serums like this are usually pretty pricey, so finding it at a great discount is a sign to add it to your cart.

If you’re in the market for a new curling iron, this Bio Ionic version — which tops many magazine best lists — comes at a major steal (its “normal” price is $160+). The extended barrel makes styling long hair faster and more even, while the signature heat technology helps reduce moisture loss. No wonder it’s a favorite with many hairstylists I know.
