Robert F. Kennedy Jr and Kid Rock’s “confusing” shirtless workout video has left a fitness professional scratching her head, as she warned it could lead to “digestive stress.”
On February 17, RFK Jr shared a video of himself and the MAGA rocker exercising topless to advocate for healthy living. The clip, set to Kid Rock’s Bawitdaba, showed the pair training in a home gym, with RFK Jr even cycling in a sauna.
Subsequently, whilst dressed in jeans, RFK Jr took a cold plunge before the two engaged in a game of pickleball. But the unconventional routine didn’t end there—the Health Secretary was shown drinking whole milk whilst relaxing in a hot tub, still wearing his jeans.

After the video went viral, Anwen Davies, a Gym and Fitness specialist at Net World Sports, spoke exclusively to The Mirror US regarding the effectiveness of RFK Jr’s and Kid Rock’s workout routine. Anwen admitted the video left her wanting “to ask questions more than feel motivated,” describing it as “very confusing from my perspective.”

The primary source of bewilderment was RFK’s decision to wear jeans throughout, as she noted, “The first question from watching this 90-second clip is, why is RFK wearing jeans? Denim has zero give compared to technical elastane or polyester.
By doing push-ups and squats in jeans, you are limiting your hip and knee range of motion.”, reports the Mirror US.
Anwen pointed out that this practice can trigger back problems, as it “forces the lower back to overcompensate, which can effectively cause lumbar strain.”
On top of that, the fitness guru expressed bewilderment over RFK Jr’s choice to don jeans during a cold plunge, suggesting it might undermine the whole point.
“The point of a cold plunge is hydrotherapy; the water needs direct contact with the skin to cause the necessary vasoconstriction,” Anwen told The Mirror US. “Wearing heavy, wet denim creates a barrier that defeats the purpose and frankly makes for a very uncomfortable recovery.”

But the denim dilemma wasn’t Anwen’s sole gripe. She also raised red flags about guzzling whole milk right after exercise, warning it could trigger an upset tummy—definitely not something you’d want whilst sitting in a hot tub wearing jeans.
“Why are they drinking milk in a warm hot tub?” Anwen questioned, before elaborating, “Don’t get me wrong, milk is a great source of protein and electrolytes, but drinking it immediately after a high-intensity session in a heated pool is a recipe for digestive stress. Whole milk’s high fat content actually slows down the delivery of amino acids to the muscles when they need them most.”
Whilst Anwen commended RFK Jr for his physical capabilities at 72, she also noted that not all of his exercises appeared to be executed correctly, concluding: “The form on those tricep dips, likely restricted by wearing jeans, is putting a lot of unnecessary force on his anterior deltoids.”
