At least nine students at Odyssey Charter School were sickened Friday morning, February 20, 2026, after ingesting a natural supplement that is not intended for children.

Several of the students were transported to Nemours Children’s Hospital by ambulance, or private vehicle, for treatment.

In a letter to parents, Odyssey officials identified the product as Himalayan Shilajit. The letter to parents did not indicate how the students came into possession of the supplement.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, “the sticky phytocomplex may have health benefits — but the science and safety data is lacking.”

Students reportedly described having headaches and feeling jittery.
