It looks like Samsung is making changes to its wearable ecosystem as it gears up for the One UI 8.5 rollout. Alongside everything the One UI 8.5 update will bring, it will also end support for some legacy hardware that’s reached the end of its lifecycle. The latest Galaxy Wearable app update confirms that two older fitness trackers are no longer supported.
Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e are losing support with Galaxy Wearable app update
The devices losing support are the Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e, both introduced in 2019. The Galaxy Fit e was marketed as a more affordable, stripped-down option with fewer features than the standard Galaxy Fit. Both models targeted entry-level users who wanted basic activity and sleep tracking without full smartwatch features. Over time, they were replaced by the Galaxy Fit 2 and later the Galaxy Fit 3. Both of which offer improved displays and better battery life.
As spotted by SamMobile, support is being removed through Galaxy Wearable app version 2.2.68.26010761. It is currently rolling out in Korea and should expand to more regions soon. Once updated, users of the Galaxy Fit and Fit e won’t be able to connect or manage their bands through the app. It’s still unclear whether syncing with Samsung Health will continue to work normally. Those still using either tracker may want to hold off on updating the Wearable app to keep things working for as long as possible.
The update also brings a refreshed One UI 8.5-based interface. It also adds support for the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. They’re expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S25 series on February 25 at Unpacked. If you’re planning to pick up either pair, don’t forget to claim free accessories through our mystery box program.
