The 2026 Winter Olympics held in Milan, Italy, have been a spectacular roundup of incredible athletes flaunting impeccable skills, human resilience, and the power of believing in yourself. The event was also a great showcase of beauty, as plenty of the women competing decided to use the opportunity to show off their personal style. Overall, the beauty moments at the 2026 Winter Olympics were so stunning that picking the best ones wasn’t easy.
Between innovative hairstyles, fun ways to use makeup, and bold manicures, these athletes have shown that beauty is also a great part of the sporting event. We loved how Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu has rocked eye-catching hair looks, and how Olympic athlete Amber Glenn has given us stunning outfits on the ice. And if there’s one thing that we can take away from beauty at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, it is that being daring and trying out something new is the biggest beauty trend of 2026.

Figure skater Alysa Liu won the gold medal for Team USA, but her hair stole the spotlight. The athlete’s locks were bleached in thick horizontal stripes, and on Paralympian Haven Shepherd’s TikTok, the skater revealed that the stripes actually have a meaning. “I just want to be a tree,” Liu said. “Three years ago, I put my first [stripe], and I thought, next year, around this time, end of December, I’m going to do the second one. So I did.” The meaning behind the stripes makes this Olympic beauty moment even more unique.

We got to see glimpses of Amanda Tassoni’s stunning pastel manicure at the Women’s Preliminary Round Group B ice hockey match between Germany and Japan at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Tassoni, who was a referee during the match, rocked an almond-shaped manicure in lavender, ash pink, and cream colors. Traditionally, this type of manicure is something we’d see about a month later, in a variety of ways. One of our favorites is pastel French tips, which are a great minimalist way to embrace spring colors!

Eileen Gu, skier for the People’s Republic of China, has shown that her makeup is impeccable, no matter how snowy and windy it might be. The athlete rocked a stunning makeup look while competing in the Women’s Freeski Big Air Qualification. In particular, her eyelashes and classic winged eyeliner looked picture-perfect, but we also noticed a hint of lip tint, blush, and highlighter on the stunning skier.

Cross-country skier Jessie Diggins caught our eye not just because of her competitive skills, but also because she rocked glitter on her cheeks. The Team USA star shared the reason behind the glitter on Instagram. “The pre-race glitter is a promise to myself that I’m going to go out there and be gritty and give my absolute best — but that I’m also going to enjoy it, and race with joy.” This is definitely a Glam-approved routine, as we know that glitter eyeshadow isn’t just for special occasions.

Lilah Fear paid homage to the Spice Girls as she and her skating partner Lewis Gibson showed off their skills to a medley of the girl group’s biggest hits. Fear rocked space buns and bold eye makeup, taking us right back to the ’90s. The skater was also wearing a costume inspired by the iconic Spice Girls Union Jack dress, which was designed by Ginger herself.

Italian speed skating star Francesca Lollobrigida rocked bright-green nails — a daring and fun color that instantly caught our eye — to the 2026 Winter Olympics. In Italy, green is considered the color of hope, which is why we presume the athlete chose that shade for the big event. Now, while she could have gone with any type of green, Lollobrigida went with a neon shade, which looked great when the athlete held her well-deserved gold medal.

Team USA figure skaters Madison Chock and Evan Bates stunned on the ice, but when Chock entered the ice skating rink rocking a triple-crimped ponytail, it’s safe to say her hair was all we could focus on. The movements the skater did on the ice were beautifully enhanced by the movements of her three ponytails, and the crimped texture added a fun and unexpected Y2K beauty element. The easy way to spice up a classic ponytail suited her beautifully, and it confirmed that Chock isn’t afraid of thinking outside the beauty box.

Dark and moody lips are a major statement, as figure skater Amber Glenn clearly knows. The Team USA athlete rocked a bold maroon lipstick while competing in Women’s Single Skating, and the shade of her lips perfectly matched her wine-red outfit. While most would refrain from combining a bold lip with a bold eye, Glenn decided to go against the makeup rule and add some heavy eyeliner to the look. Pulled-back hair and layered necklaces completed the gothic-inspired aesthetic.
