Rawls Museum Arts (RMA) will be hosting its Wellness Resource Fair on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., highlighting healthy living through this free event intended for all people in the area.

Feb. 28 is the new date for the fair after winter weather forced a postponement from its original Jan. 31 date.

“This free event is open to all and will feature interactive learning opportunities, a variety of wellness-focused resources, and free healthy snacks that have kindly been sponsored by Franklin-Southampton Area United Way and Feridies Peanuts & Provisions,” RMA officials stated in a social media post promoting the fair.

A flier noted that the event will feature art activities for all ages, service dogs, and the Blackwater Regional Library’s BookMobile.

RMA Executive Director Ann Jackson Edwards said the purpose of the fair is to connect community members with the vital resources available to them right here in the area.

“Wellness touches so many aspects of our lives, including physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being, and this event brings together a wide range of organizations that support those needs,” she said. “We are fortunate to have so many impactful groups doing important work in our community, but often the challenge is simply helping people find and access those resources. This fair is designed to help bridge that gap, and we are deeply grateful to the Obici Healthcare Foundation for sponsoring this program and making it possible.”

The flier highlighted how resources available at the fair will be provided by a wide variety of organizations in the community, including the following:

• Art Therapy with Whitley Richards;

• Art+Write+Heal with Lisa Saxton;

• Attend Homecare;

• Blackwater Regional Library;

• Buck’s Dog Training Virginia;

• CHIP of South Hampton Roads;
