The flavor of pickles—you either love it or you don’t. But for diehard fans, this new beauty product might be right up your alley.
e.l.f. Cosmetics has officially entered its briny era with the launch of Big Dill, a dill pickle–flavored addition to its Glow Reviver Melting Lip Balm lineup.
The limited-edition balm, priced at $9, blends the tang of dill pickle with it’s key formula, which includes shea butter, mango butter, cocoa butter and hyaluronic acid. The product promises hydration with a side of unexpected flavor.
The line already has a slew of dessert-inspired staples like Vanilla Toffee, Strawberry Shortcake and Java Chip, but Big Dill is easily the most divisive flavor in the collection.
And clearly, the gamble paid off. The pickle-powered balm officially launched Tuesday, February 24 and promptly sold out. They updated their original post saying,“Officially in a pickle 😔 Big Dill is sold out 💔 This balm was only here for a limited time, but we’re always listening 👂 so stay tuned for more juicy drops on the way 🫶].”
One exclaimed, “The pickle girls won with this PICKLE LIPGLOSS?! Love. 🙂↕️”
“My dreams are coming true. A PICKLE LIP GLOSS😭🔥🔥🔥🔥 ICONIC,” another wrote.
But another insisted, “I love pickles. So so much. Pickle flavored snacks, I’m there. We have gone too far with the pickle craze. Nobody needs this .”
“New fear unlocked: kiss someone with pickle flavored gloss,” one joked.
A lot of makeup fans were bummed that the drop sold out so fast.
“Can we normalize launching products that don’t sell out instantly 😭,” a frustrated Instagrammer wrote.
Another questioned, “ How did the website NEVER change then MAGICALLY they are out of stock?”
A third declared, “Never became available, just notify when available.”
The brand was seemingly listening to its fans, teasing a giveaway a few hours later. “You guys are fast. 🤯 But don’t get your e.l.f. in a pickle! 💚” they wrote, revealing they’re partnering with snack company @goodgirlsnacks to offer two lucky fans a chance to win the sold-out item. The winners will receive the Big Dill Glow Reviver Melting Lip Balm, a Cream Glide Lip Liner and a Best Seller Variety Pack from Good Girl Snacks.
