*Authorities in Altamonte Springs, Florida, have arrested Winston Medley, a 35-year-old four-time convicted felon, after he allegedly tried to shoot a man inside a Crunch Fitness gym. Police said the weapon failed to fire when Medley pulled the trigger multiple times, preventing the situation from turning fatal, FOX 35 Orlando reports.

The confrontation began when Medley approached a group of men working out and commented that they were not lifting enough weight. The alleged victim told police he felt Medley was ignoring him and asked why. Medley reportedly said that in his city, people do not acknowledge others and made threatening statements. Moments later, he returned with a gun and pointed it at the victim, who managed to run to safety.

After the gun failed, Medley fled the gym and drove away before authorities later took him into custody. He faces charges including attempted first-degree premeditated murder, obstructing justice by tampering with evidence, and possession of a weapon as a convicted felon. He is being held without bond.
