I would argue that the biggest beauty trend in 2026 thus far is nostalgia. Case in point: frosted lipstick is back… sort of. There’s a few proof points: L’Oréal Ballerina Shoes is trending on TikTok (it’s a warm, shimmery pink-peach). CHANEL Beauty also just released a limited denim collection with two lip colours: a cool-toned beige and icy baby blue. If that’s not a sign, we don’t know what is.

The trend definitely pays tribute to the 80s, 90s and early 00s, but this time around the finish is sheerer, glossier and more nuanced (less chalky metallic, more light-reflective veil). Nostalgia through a modern lens and a look we’re very much into. Whether you want to wear the look alone or layer with an existing lip, here’s an edit of the best frosted lipsticks right now, according to RUSSH.

CHANEL Beauty Rouge Coco Flash in Washed Beige

Sadly the baby blue shade is sold out, but this cool shimmery brown is still in stock.

Posh Gloss High Shine Lipgloss in Martini

For a softer option, this gloss has a subtle metallic sheen that can be layered or worn alone.

Half Magic Crystal Butter Lip Balm in Cinnawitch

This balm is packed with sparkles for a high impact, reflective finish.

MAC Cosmetics Frost Lipstick in Fabby

MAC is one of the originals and the best – the frost range in particular serves up creamy, icy colour in a variety of shades. We love the lilac-pink tones of Fabby.

Isamaya Beauty Metal Lip Balm in Pantomime

For a proper metallic, foil-like finish, try this balm from Isamaya Beauty. Pantomime has an almost holographic finish that’s somewhere between pink, orange and gold.

YSL Loveshine Lipstick in Stardust Love

Loveshine has the hydration of a gloss but the pigment of a classic lipstick, plus this shade has an iridescent shimmer that’s ‘frosty’ without being too rich.
