D1 Training is pumping up its presence in New Jersey.
The performance-based strength and conditioning concept signed a lease for a 4,500-square-foot space at Somerset Shopping Center in Bridgewater. The location expects to open soon, according to property manager Levin Management Corp.
NFL player Will Bartholomew founded D1 Training in 2001. It offers structured strength, conditioning and performance programs for youth athletes and adults. D1 models its training on Division I-style coaching and training principles. The boutique gym environment features expert coaching, group classes and personalized sessions.

Since launching a franchise program in 2017, the Nashville-based chain has surpassed 150 locations nationwide.
Within New Jersey, D1 Training has locations in Princeton, Middletown and Upper Saddle River.

Other recent additions at the 219,000-square-foot shopping center along Route 206 include: Boot Barn, Strand Salon Studios, Liquor Cave, Fred Astaire Dance Studio and Style Brow Bar, North Plainfield-based LMC noted.
