A Florida woman was going about her daily workouts at a Crunch Fitness gym. However, she became the subject of widespread social media attention after her attempt to politely share an equipment turned into an unexpected confrontation. None of us can change our bodytypes through a scroll, unlike NBA2K26, so we have to follow gym etiquette. Unfortunately, another member took it differently, reacting with anger and spewing profanity over what should have been a routine exchange.
The incident, shared by TikToker Josie (@josieleininger), unfolded during a recent workout. As part of her routine, she needed to use the hip abduction machine first. However, someone else was using it before her, which is common in gyms. This just meant that Josie needed to wait for her to finish her set. However, the member was taking too long, which prompted Josie to ask a question she was reluctant to ask.
As reported by BroBible, she gave a detailed account of the incident. “She’s on her phone in between sets. Taking selfies…I’m like how long is she going to be? I try not to do that to anyone but you know, I need to know. I’m on a time crunch,” she said. After that question, the woman became ballistic. “She’s like, cussing me out. She’s like, ‘It’s so freaking weird, like why are you freaking standing over there just watching me, staring at me,’” she recalled.
In Turn, Josie Learned A Lesson On Gym Etiquette Herself
The TikTok video of Josie gained significant traction online. Social media and online fitness forums said that Josie was in the right as she was merely following the standard gym etiquette of politely asking how many sets remain or offering to “work in” between sets. However, as evidenced by their interaction, even a respectful approach could elicit strong violent reactions.
Users mostly criticized the other member’s hostility. They also said that Josie did not deserve to go through that kind of interaction, with people offering her helpful advice on how to deal with such situations. Some examples they gave were to alternate exercises, take turns, or politely check with staff when tensions unexpectedly arise.

1. Put your weights back according to how much they weigh.
2. Don’t drop weights. If you need to drop weights you can’t handle the weight in the first place. The only exception to this is deadlifts.

“Dude she seriously has no right to be mad at you im so sorry i would be pissed!!” one said. “I mean youre not wrong. but at the same time you gotta learn how to do the same workout off the machine. no need to waste time waiting,” one explained. “I always offer for people to work in with me if I have a few sets left. People are so stuck up like it’s not that hard to be nice,” another said. It is situations like this that make you wonder why some people cannot stand to miss workouts.
