Who doesn’t love a good drugstore beauty haul? Here at GH, our Beauty Lab experts and on-staff editors have shared some drugstore favorites over the years, including old-school beauty favorites that some of our mothers swear by.
And lucky for us, CVS—the haven for drugstore beauty finds—is having a huge discount event called the Epic Beauty Sale that’ll last most of March. However, the promotion is broken up into two parts, and you need to have a CVS ExtraCare account to see the savings. (If you don’t already have one, it’s free to sign up).
How the sale works
Now through March 14, you’ll get $10 off beauty and items when you spend $30. Then, from March 15 to March 28, you can earn over $100 ExtraBucks Rewards when you shop beauty items.
Again, when you’re shopping the sale, make sure you’re logged in to your ExtraCare account and head to “ExtraCare Savings.” Click “Send to Card” in your account and get shopping.
Our favorite CVS Epic Beauty Sale finds
Multiple versions of Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing water have been praised by our experts. This one in particular has outperformed several other formulas for speedily and effectively removing makeup without tugging or rubbing. Besides being part of the sale, this micellar water is buy one, get one 50% off (which is great, because daily makeup wearers know you can run through run bottle quickly).
We loved this multi-use formula so much we gave it a Beauty Award in recent years. It gives a natural, glowing look and received high scores for easy blending and application.
Not only is this our favorite whitening toothpaste, but our Beauty Lab pros even confirmed that the formula has the ability to remove up to 10 years of yellow stains on teeth in four weeks when used twice a day.
It has a different look, but this is the same facial cleanser that our Beauty Lab pros granted a Beauty Award, as they found it reduced irritation for those with sensitive skin. Jennifer Garner is a fan, too, saying, “It doesn’t have any scent, and it starts moisturizing as you’re washing your face.”
A Good Housekeeping Seal star (and one of mine and my mom’s personal faves), this moisturizer has been named among several of our best moisturizer roundups. It tackles wrinkles while adding hydration, thanks to niacinamide and peptides. We like that it’s silky, fast-absorbing, and ultra-hydrating.
Cameron Jenkins, a Good Housekeeping staff writer, is a fan of Mielle products. She says of the spray version of this conditioner, “I typically use it after washing my hair along with the Mielle Organics Babassu Brazilian Curly Cocktail Curl Mousse, and it really helps define my curls without weighing my hair down.”
April Franzino, our senior beauty and style director, and Sabina Wizemann, our Beauty Lab director, have dug deep into this serum, and they found is lightweight, spreads easily, and doesn’t feel greasy. In a study, they found that a majority of women found their skin more radiant just after two weeks of use.
