Spanning more than 100 miles across Fort Worth, the Trinity Trails have become a staple of the city.

Located just two miles from the TCU campus, the trails are a popular exercise destination for students looking for a safe and scenic place to run or walk.

Whether it is serious runners training for the next Cowtown Marathon or friends taking scenic walks, the trails have become part of daily life for many TCU students.

“I use the Trinity Trails three to four times per week,” said Anna Baden, a junior communications and Spanish double major. “I love the views along the water and my walks are a great way to clear my head after a long day.”

Other Horned Frogs use the trails as training grounds, like Will Caspari, a senior finance major who ran the full Cowtown Marathon.

“I like the trail because it’s just one long stretch where I don’t have to worry about stoplights or cars,” he said.

Skylar Williams, a junior nursing major, said exercising, for her, sets the tone for her weekday work ethic.

According to The Gym Group’s Gen Z Fitness Pulse Report 2025, 82% of Gen Z said integrating exercise into their working day boosts productivity and energy levels.

Additionally, 55% of respondents ranked mental health as one of their top three reasons for working out.

Beyond exercise, TCU students said they also enjoy stopping at local spots along the trail.

“Woodshed Smokehouse is the place to go after a run,” Ethan Zeiner, a senior sports broadcasting major, said.

Jaqueline Horlings, a senior allied health science major, said she prefers a juice from Pressed Juicery.

Whether for fitness, mental health or simply enjoying the scenery, the Trinity Trails offer TCU students a space to recharge, stay active and connect with the community.
