Fulham head coach Marco Silva confirms Joachim Andersen will be back in the squad against West Ham, but was less confident about the fitness of Harry Wilson.

Centre back Anderson was not involved in Sunday’s 2-1 win against Tottenham due to an illness, after playing the full 90 minutes in the previous 17 league games this season. Issa Diop deputised in his absence and was named man of the match.

“Joa (Andersen), 100% sure he’s OK,” Silva tells the Hounslow Herald ahead of Wednesday night’s match against West Ham. “He was not injured; it was an illness and he’s ready to go again.”

Wilson was scintillating against Spurs – as he has been all season – netting his ninth league goal and notching a sixth league assist in a dominating first half. But the Wales international hobbled off in the 72nd minute, with Silva confirming he hurt his ankle during the first half, but decided to continue.

“Harry is one of the players that I said we have to keep assessing them and see,” Silva says. “Tomorrow we are going to take some important decisions related with the game and with the squad list and with starting XI and for sure we have some players to assess and after taking decisions.”

Wilson is in the best form of his career, having registered a combined 16 goals and assists in all competitions. Since December, only Erling Haaland and Bruno Fernandes have got more than him (12).

But his performances have unsurprisingly captured the attention of a host of rival clubs, with Fabrizio Romano announcing today that Aston Villa are keen to sign Wilson as a free agent, given the 28-year-old’s contract expires this summer.

In other team news, record-signing Kevin underwent surgery on Monday following an injury to the Brazilian’s fifth metatarsal during Fulham’s 3-1 win at Sunderland. Silva confirmed that “everything went well.”

He is expected to be out for some time, but the club are hoping he is not ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.

Midfielder Sasa Lukic, meanwhile, has missed the last six league games through injury, but is back in training and progressing well and could feature on Wednesday.
